Kate Lycett

Kate grew up in Suffolk and studied fine art at York St. John University, specialising in textile design.  From there she spent a year in Huddersfield where she studied industrial applications and CAD.  After working in design she returned to painting.

Kate has lived in Hebden Bridge, where she is now based, since 2005.  Her style is easily recognisable and her textile design work is always present  in the way she paints. Inspiration is drawn from her surroundings, the landscape and changing light. Each of her prints is hand finished with gold leaf and gold thread, thus making her vibrant work even more distinctive.
